Compressport were proud to be the sponsor of Ironman UK 70.3 this weekend. The event was held at Wimbleball Lake in the stunning Exmoor National Park and has the reputation of being the toughest 70.3 course on the international circuit.
It was a fantastic result for the Compressport women with a 2nd from Eimear Mullan 5.01.49 and 3rd from Lucy Gossage – 5.03.43, commenting on her first pro race Lucy said “What an epic weekend at IMUK 70.3. Not my best race performance ever but one of my most gutsy if i do say so myself! A* for effort, A- for performance. Couldn't have given anything more today though and mega chuffed to make it up to 3rd in the last 500m or so. Massive well done Eimear Mullan for a storming race and coming so close to getting the win.”

Ridewise support British Cycling to get more women cyclingMembers of Ridewise supported the launch of Sport England’s Women’s Active campaign that aims to get more women doing more sport.
British Cycling’s new National Women’s Cycling Network will deliver tens of thousands of cycling opportunities for women across the country. These fun, recreational group bike rides will be led by women for women. They will be on local routes, planned and mapped by women trained by British Cycling. The new national network empowers women to change the face of cycling for good and leave a lasting legacy. The three year programme will see 1000 women trained to become local champions and ride leaders and a massive increase in the number of women cycling once a week.
Ian Drake CEO, British Cycling: ‘We are delighted to announce the British Cycling National Women’s Cycling Network, made possible by funding from Sport England. We have had significant success in increasing participation in cycling through Sky Ride, developed by our principal partner BSkyB and British Cycling. Our female champions are the best in the world. We can now use this experience and inspiration to hugely increase women’s cycling opportunities. The National Women’s Cycling Network will be led by women for women. They will decide routes and champion the rides at a local level. Over the next three years the network will fundamentally change women’s cycling – having a massive impact on recreational participation, and attracting thousands more women into our sport.’

Ridewise win the Shape up Notts! Workplace Challenge
In June this year, Sport Nottinghamshire launched the Shape up Notts! Workplace Challenge across Nottingham and Nottinghamshire to find the county's fittest businesses with four prizes totalling £8,000 up for grabs. The teams at Ridewise, Nottingham Land Registry & Agathos Systems and are now officially the fittest and most environmentally friendly in the city and county after winning the Challenge. The Challenge, which finished at the end of October saw businesses from across Nottingham and Nottinghamshire battle it out for the top spot by swapping their cars for bikes and changing their lifestyle habits to become more active. Competitors from each company gained points for the amount of CO2 they saved, as well as for the amount of exercise they did.
