Outlaw Triathlon Confirms Partners in Crime and TV
The Outlaw Triathlon, Britain’s newest long-distance event taking place on 8 August in Nottingham, has confirmed event Partners in Crime including BLOC, CompresSport, High5 and Buff. With agreement that the event will be televised, headline sponsorship is now being offered to brands wishing to be part of Britain’s most exciting new triathlon event.
The Outlaw features an open water swimming event on Saturday 7 August, followed by the triathlon on Sunday over the gruelling distances of 2.4mile swim, 112mile cycle and 26.2mile marathon run. The events starts and finishes at the Holme Pierrepont National Watersports Centre and will feature around 1500 athletes – entries are still coming in daily.
BLOC is the official sunglasses brand for the Outlaw. The brand, which is widely available from leading running and cycling stores, offers a triathlon specific range of streamlined eyewear that is designed with cycling and running in mind and will be offered to competitors at discounted prices.
CompresSport, the compression brand chosen by British Ironman World Champion, Chrissie Wellington, was quick to come on board as a Partner in Crime. Launching into the UK for the first time this year, CompresSport saw the Outlaw as an ideal platform to reach one of its key audiences.
K-Swiss has also joined Speedo and PlanetX as sponsors of the event. As official run partner, K-Swiss will use the Outlaw Triathlon to build on its national television advertising campaign, which features a professional long-distance triathlete. The Californian shoe company will feature in Nottingham on 8 August and will be stocked by local retailer, Total Fitness Nottingham, from July.
Commercial Director, Melanie Berry said: “We’ve had a tremendous response to launching the Outlaw and are delighted to have such high calibre sponsors working with us to make this the premier long-distance event in the UK.
“We are playing on Nottingham’s heritage and history by linking to the legend of Robin Hood. Having high profile sponsors compliments the strong brand that we have created for the event.
“We have had a lot of support from the local councils as well, which has helped us secure a television slot for the event. We will be in a position to announce more on that next week, and we are open to offers for title sponsorship.”
